Fingerless/Driving Gloves

Picture
I start my fingerless gloves on a vintage Singer knitting machine.  It does require alot of hand manipulation, but the results are a uniform textile and allows me to save some time and finish a pair in about 1  1/2 hours as opposed to 7 hours.   I can then merely charge for the materials and not for the time. Win/Win

February 2021

In my mind it's not too early to begin thinking of...

With thoughts of warmer days I began working on lighter, softer colors that remind one of Spring. I started with a couple pair of earrings, and will share more as I finish them.

January 2021
A universal collective sigh of relief. We have a new Prez and Vice Prez. All of a sudden I am hopeful.

Today with a lighter heart I was able to truly get back to creating.

I focused on whimsical plantsy stuff today.

August 2020

These are some crazyass times. But on the other side of that, there has been a wonderful, safe, and nice respite from all the isolation this season at our local City Market. Our Market patrons have demonstrated their very best during these most trying times and have shown up and embraced the shop local spirit, everyone wearing their unique and personal masks and face coverings, practicing safe distancing and respect for others.  Their support has kept a lot of us small local biz's above water, and we are so truly thankful and appreciative.

So, in that spirit and keeping up with demand, here are some of this weeks offerings.
Be kind, be well, and stay safe.

March 2020

Being lucky enough to be a work at home biz, this allows me to be able to continue to create, grow, plant, and do all that I normally do. It is very therapeutic for me getting lost in the creative process and especially now, during these unknown and difficult times. Keep on keeping on...

Making and growing so that others may be able to enjoy a little bit of pretty in an otherwise not so pretty situation. Here is the current progress on my new line of affordable handmade earrings. Below are just a few finished items...

These all silver ear wires have been antiqued a warm dark patina, and are totally interchangeable! They can be mixed and matched with any style bead or bobble. So I will leave with you just a small preview of some of the styles of ear wires and a few of the bobble options. Much more to come... Be well all.

February 2020

I am very excited to be bringing to the 2020 market season some brand new lines of products.  One line will be a "build your own affordable earring collection",  and my other product line will be homemade planters for both inside and out.

I will be updating with more information as I finish developing.

For a sneak peak...

To start off my 7th season at the C-St City Market and beginning with the first C-St City Market day on April 6, 2019,  A bit Boho is excited to be sponsoring a Giant Titan Sunflower growing contest.   "Who can grow the largest?!"  A FREE  packet of seeds will be given out during the month of April,  or as long as supplies last to anyone who wishes to participate.  You must stop by the market to obtain your seeds.  Sunflowers are easy and fun to grow!  There are no official rules, but we do ask that you use the Giant Titan seeds that we have given out so all have the same advantage.

For the contest,  at the end of the growing season contestants will take pictures of their sunflower heads and post their "final submission" and submit pictures to the C-St City Market page between September 25th - 28th,  2019.   Winners will be announced on the C-St City Market page for first, second and third place winners for whomever grows the largest Giant Titan sunflower seed head.  Prizes will be available the following Saturday October 5, 2019 for winners to pick up.  In case of ties, the first posted ones will be chosen.

Keep us updated on your sunflowers progess and share with weekly pics to our Facebook Page and  to Instagram with the  hashtag; #cstreetsunflower,  and do make sure to take clear pics with a ruler or yardstick and title your final contest post  with; "C-St sunflower final submission".   Happy growing!

 1st  place - $25 Market bucks
2nd place - $15 Market bucks
3rd  place - $10 Market bucks

June 14, 2018
My bad.  Since the holidays and then downsizing and moving and a this and a that......... it has been a while since I had time to post.  But, now my studio is finally set up, and we are somewhat settled in the new abode I can finally get back to full time Bohoing. Here we go.  This weeks jewelry offerings include Argentium silver and brass earrings. Argentium silver has less copper in it than Sterling which makes it much slower to tarnish.

10.06.2017
Time ran out and I had to take some "group" pictures of all my new handmade earrings, leather and beaded bracelets, Tillandsia wall pocket holders, and grapevine Tilly holders. All will all be at Pumpkin Daze in Republic 10.072017.  Check them out!

This week brings a mish mash of stuff.  I really like working with the enamels.
I did copper hand cut and enameled focals in basic colors with stone and glasss beads on leather strap bracelets.  I will be able to do more colors when my white enamel arrives.  Hard to mix colors without basic white.

8.04.2017
Quite a productive week with relativley few mishaps which resulted in fewer swear words for a change.

I had a run on earrings last market day so I had to stock up.  Worked with enamels, resin, metal formation and colors.

7.29.2017
Worked with a new to me medium this week. Enamels!.  Cut up some copper peices, molded and added holes and then torch fired with powdered enamels.  I like the look that I acheived.  More to come soon!

Also made a couple of bracelets.

For The Birdz

Bird nesting material baskets are Ideal for bird watchers, knitters, sewers and nature lovers.  And birds!

Birds are wonderful scavengers and make use of many different materials to build their nests.  You could also fill your basket with pet fur,  (not treated with flea or tick chemicals),  human hair, cotton balls, straw, pine needles and sticks. Be creative!

Also new for this season are these original,  practical and too darn cute Tillandsia plant holders.  I have taken some plain old suction cups and put a little greenery on them to disguise and pretty them up.  Now you can have your plants in any room with a window!  These would be marvelous for a small apartment, dorm room or an RV which all have such limited space.  These are also great for people with cats who like to play with the Tillies - now they can be out of reach!
